Join Us!

Here at the Calhoun Lab we're committed to fostering a supportive and collaborative environment of research, education, and mentorship. We strive to build and connect across a diverse group of scholars, with our research and outreach activities often incorporating strategies to broaden participation in ecology and conservation. See below for opportunities to join our growing research group!

Prospective Graduate Students (MSc and PhD)
Prospective graduate students can join the research group through the UBC Department of Zoology. For 2027 start dates, I am only considering prospective students that are able to bring external funding, such as the NSERC CGRS-M and CGRS-D.  Prospective students with overlapping research interests should contact me directly via email with an attached CV of your work and research experience. In your message, please describe your broad research interests, what goals you're hoping to accomplish in graduate school and your future career, and any specific research topics, projects, or questions you're interested in exploring during your graduate program.

Information on graduate student funding at UBC can be found here.

Postdoctoral Researchers
Prospective postdocs with aligned research interests can should contact me via email. Several funding and fellowship opportunities exist to support postdoctoral researchers within the research group including the Killam Fellowship, the NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship, and the Liber Ero Fellowship. I am happy to help support and provide feedback on fellowship applications for prospective postdocs.
